IAIAsa2010 CONFERENCE  GENERAL INFORMATION

Please read this section before registering for the conference below.

Registration

The registration fee covers

  • entrance to all plenary and workshop sessions
  • a conference bag, printed abstracts and programme documentation and post-conference proceedings on CD
    or memory stick (accompanying spouses do not receive these)
  • daily lunch and refreshments
  • all social events and dinners, except for day delegates, who have to book and pay for social events

Only bona fide full-time students may register at the student rate. Proof of student status is required. The student rate includes all social events and dinners. Student attendance is limited to 20 persons and this will be determined on a first-come-first-served basis. (Please see Student Scholarships below.)

Accommodation

Please find the details for both hotel and B&B/Guesthouse accommodation in the Accommodation section, and book and make payment directly with these places of accommodation. All accommodation not taken up by 31 July 2010 at the hotels will be released immediately.

Block accommodation reservations have been made for delegates (in on 22 – out on 25 August 2010) at three hotels in Pretoria, all situated within 10 km of the CSIR International Convention Centre. Ten (10) rooms have been reserved until 31 July 2010 at the Court Classique for out of town delegates attending the training courses on Sunday the 22nd of August 2010.

Transport to and from airport / place of accommodation to CSIR Conference Venue

Delegates can use the Transport section of the registration form to submit their request for transport to Kwathlano Tours and Safaris, or they can contact them directly on  kwathlan@mweb.co.za,  012 343-2200  or 083 227 8103.  Both telephone numbers can be reached 24 hours a day.

Preconference Training Courses Sunday 22 August 2010

Courses will only proceed with a minimum of 15 participants. Course fees include lunch and refreshment breaks and course materials, but not accommodation, which has been reserved at the Court Classique (see Accommodation above) for participants wishing to stay over on 21 August 2010. We will notify participants and refund the course fee if any of the courses will not be held.

Technical Tour Sunday 22 August 2010
A tour of the Gautrain and environs has been planned. Further details will be provided.
Student scholarships
A limited number of student scholarships will be available to full-time students. We prefer students to apply via their Heads of Department. Enquiries can be made to the Conference Secretariat.
Exhibiting during the Conference
Please use the Exhibition Booking Form on the Conference website to book your stand. Payment is done via the Registration Form below. The exhibition floor plan is also available on the website.
Advertising in the Conference Proceedings
Please use the Advertising booking form on the Conference website to book your advertisement. Payment is done via the Registration Form below.
IAIAsa Premium and Students Awards

Payment for registration fees

Foreign delegates can pay by Telegraphic Transfer (TT) or arrange to pay in South African Rand on registration. Local delegates can pay either (i) by way of a cheque in favour of IAIAsa Conference mailed to the Secretariat; or (ii) by direct deposit into or (iii) electronic transfer to the conference bank account, proof of payment to be faxed or emailed to the Secretariat; or (iv) payment on registration by prior written arrangement with the secretariat - if such delegate fails to attend he/she/the organisation will be liable for payment of the full conference costs.

Government officials must obtain an order number from their Finance Department when they receive the electronically generated invoice on submission of their online  registration form, and forward same to the Secretariat, who will then issue a fresh invoice reflecting the order number. No registration of government officials without an order number will be processed.

Refund policy: registration fees will be refunded upon written notice received before 31 July 2010, less a R500 administration fee.  After 31 July 2010 no fees will be refunded, but can be transferred to another person from the same organisation.

Credit card facilities are not available.

2. Conference Registration Fees

PLEASE NOTE:

  • 5% discount will be given on all registration fees except Student and One-day registration fees if four (4) or more persons from the same organisation register simultaneously. Please do not pay until you receive the consolidated invoice.

  • Government officials must please obtain approval to register for the conference before completing the registration form. Thereafter, submit the proforma invoice which will be electronically issued to your finance department in order to obtain an order number, which please furnish to the Conference Secretartiat. No registration of Goverment officials will be accepted without an Order Number.

  • If you are not a member of IAIAsa, but you tick the membership option below, you qualify for the member rate.
